NRHH Bid Awards

Award bids are a premier experience of NACURH conferences as we strive to recognize the outstanding work of our affiliates. After reviewing a highlight of NRHH awards below you can visit Title 6 of the NRHH Policy Book and Title 11 of the NACURH Policy Book.

NRHH Outstanding Chapter of the Year

The NRHH Outstanding Chapter of the Year award is the highest honor an NRHH chapter can obtain. The award recognizes outstanding achievements of an NRHH chapter on the campus, regional, and NACURH levels.

Outstanding NRHH Member of the Year

This award is designed to recognize outstanding service to NRHH and NACURH by an individual who has been directly affiliated with both organizations.

NRHH Building Block Chapter of the Year

The NRHH Building Block Chapter of the Year award is given to a chapter that shows outstanding growth and development during the year of nomination.

NRHH President of the Year

This award recognizes the outstanding service of an NRHH Chapter President at an affiliated school who has a direct positive impact on their school, region, and NACURH.

Of the Months

Of The Month Awards, or OTMs, are a monthly way to recognize the incredible things going on at our campuses. OTMs are submitted to the campus which can then review, vote, and submit OTMs to the regional and national levels for broad recognition.

There are 17 OTM categories that can be submitted for each month:

  • Advisor

  • Community Service Program

  • Diversity Program

  • Educational Program

  • Executive Board Member

  • First-Year Student​

  • Graduate Assistant

  • Institution Faculty or Staff Member

  • Organization

  • Passive Program

  • Residential Program

  • Residential Life Professional Staff Member

  • Resident Assistant

  • Student Staff Member

  • Social Program

  • Spotlight

  • Student

OTMs are due on the last day of each month and are reviewed the month following first on campus, then regionally before being submitted for national review. Submitting an OTM is as easy as clicking a button and telling us a story about an awesome experience. Check out our OTMs page to learn more about the process or to submit an OTM. 

Pin Awards

NRHH administers four pin awards: the NRHH Diamond Award, Outstanding Service Pin, Outstanding Recognition Pin, and the Bronze Pin. These pins were granted at the NACURH, regional, and campus levels, respectively. 

NRHH Diamond Award

The NRHH Diamond Award is an honor bestowed upon individuals who have made outstanding strides reaching beyond their on-campus community while exemplifying the values of NRHH. The award recognizes outstanding achievements and/or collaborations linking members of their chapter to that of their campus community and other college and university NRHH Chapters across NACURH.

Who is Eligible?

Individuals nominated and chosen for the award must be an NRHH member of an affiliated NRHH chapter. The NNBD, NBD, RBD, and Offices cannot be nominated for the Diamond Award.

Outstanding Service Pin

The Outstanding Service Pin shall be awarded to NRHH members that have provided outstanding leadership to their Regions NRHH by embodying the values of service and recognition.

Who is Eligible?

Individuals chosen for the award must be an NRHH member of an affiliated NRHH chapter.

Outstanding Recognition Pin

The Outstanding Recognition Pin shall be awarded to NRHH members that have provided outstanding leadership to their NRHH Chapter by embodying the values of service and recognition.

Who is Eligible?

Any NRHH member is eligible for this award.

Bronze Pin

The Bronze Pin shall be awarded to individuals who have provided leadership and direction to their campus organizations.

Who is Eligible?

Any person affiliated with that chapters institution.

Outstanding Leadership Pin

The Outstanding Leadership Pin is designed to recognize those who have demonstrated outstanding support and leadership to an NRHH chapter and residence hall students. This may include, but is not limited to, chapter members, housing personnel, faculty, and college or university staff.

Who is Eligible?

ndividuals who could qualify for membership, including first- term students, with the exception of those graduating in the current academic term, cannot be given an Outstanding Leadership Pin.

Candidate Member Education Progam of Excellence Award

The Candidate Member Education Program of Excellence Award is an honor bestowed upon chapters who have made outstanding efforts in educating their candidate members. The award recognizes outstanding educational programs and training for members seeking on-campus membership.

Who is Eligible?

Chapters nominated and chosen for the award must an affiliated NRHH Chapter. Only nominations filled out using the Candidate Member Education Program of Excellence Award application will be considered. Nominations forms shall be distributed by the NAN to the NNBD, who will then distribute them to their regions NRHH Chapters by April 15 of each year and will be due by a predetermined date as determined by the NAN.
